Ok so im driving the other day I hit the gas take it to about 6 grand and shift. A couple miles later my CEL comes on. I have gm stage 2 intake exhaust and a 2.85 pulley. I dont know what this could be. The car is still driving great. What are the signs of the #4 piston going? Could this possibly be it? If not does anyone have any ideas?

 

lol my light came on last night too, driving normal and it just popped on and wont come off. go to autozone and see what it reads as.

 

check your dipstick, maybe it popped out-it happend to me once.

 

Your dipstick shouldn't pop out. That means you're getting blow by which is usually caused from cracked ring lands.

I already checked the dipstick it wasnt that. hmmm any other ideas?

Went to autozone they said it was system to lean bank 1. I just took my car into chevy recently to get the supercharger gasket replaced because it had a leak. Is this the same problem again?

 

doesnt sound like it.. your probably PO171.. go to the dealer...

 

its def po171 which has somethin to do with my intake but my intake has been on for 10,000 miles without a single CEL and now all of a sudden it comes on. Its been pretty cold in VA here recently and I read on here that could be messin with the MAF sensor.

 

thats what it did to mine.. its been cold and then i had it... so if you have an interceptor just clear it... if not oh well...

no...not in my case at least. its because of my mods.. more air into the engine equals more flow so.... lol...just go get it check out

 

Your most likely just fine. My car pops that code all the time and I have no leaks or anything. The cold cold air and intake are triggering your MAF to set off a code. No worries.
