question about mod
Ok heres what im gonna do in the near future
I'm gonna get the stge 1 and buy nates pulley. sry if this is a repost but my Question is will the 42 lb injectors handle the 2.85 safely or should I just stick with the 2.90. And is the stage 1 tune the same as stage 2? I asked the tune question b4 and only had one response so any help on that would be great. Thanks in advance

The Stage 1 and 2 ECM Flashes are the same. As for a 2.85 pulley vs a 2.9 pulley, nothing is guaranteed safe, but 2.9 is a little safer and will be on the edge of maxing the injectors out. For the half pound of boost, I personally wouldn't risk it.
The other thing to keep in mind when you buy a pulley is that your current pulley is pressed on on supercharger so you will need a hub to bolt the new pulley on to. You will also need a shorter belt. You might be better off saving up the little extra, getting the stage 2 kit and that way you have that for the warranty and then down the road you can easily swap the pulleys out.

Ah, I didn't know he sold stage 2 hubs. I know you guys are saying the stage 1 and 2 flashes are the same, but I don't see how they are. Stage 2, with the smaller pulley, obviously runs more boost than the stage 1, because it is still on the stock pulley. I just don't see how they can be identical.

Stage 1 and 2 tunes are identical . My stage 1 tune has the exact same individual calibration file numbers as a stage 2 tune that was posted on here . They are the same , In the GM stage2 instructions from GM it says
LSJ UPGRADE KIT Stage 1 to Stage 2 PAGE 8 OF 24
IMPORTANT !
If you have not previously installed the stage 1 supercharger upgrade kit you must perform the following :
Your vehicle must be taken to your GM dealer to have the new calibration flashed to your ECM,
Even the calibration file numbers are the same
Stage 1 calibration file - 2006 Cobalt SS - 12607645
Stage2 calibration file - 2006 Cobalt SS - 12607645
Thanks.
No problem.
Thanks and back atcha. You help steer enough people in the right direction, I figured it was my turn.
