question: gm stg2 and then back to stock?
question: gm stg2 and then back to stock?
wondering if it is worth it price wise?
1. if you were to try to sell gm stg2 kit used and go back to stock? just wondering for when and if i do sell my car? do they tune it back to stock? is it easy?
2. also for every day driving if you put the stock pulley on gm stage 2 setup will it run fine? i was wondering this because i wanted to go down the track with stock pulley.
thx

Unless you took the hub off that attaches to the stage 2 pulley, you cant go back to the stock one unless you get it pressed back on. You may just want to buy a smoothflow 3.3 (i think thats stock) pulley if you wanna run stock. As far as the tune, ive never thought about that... but im sure it will be easy for gm to do, youll probly just have to pay for it.
Running the stock pulley on a stage2 setup is stage 1 . Same tune just minus the pulley . The GM dealer should be able to put the stock tune back on your car. It would be like replacing a pcm on a stock cobalt ss.
Since the stage tunes are car specific, nobody else can ever get that tune with the code anyways. You may as well just leave the stage kit and tune on the car. You wouldn't get much money for the 42# injectors and pulley if you tried to sell them anyways.
but what about the stock pulley on gm stage 2 setup? any thing bad that can come out of that? just for ***** and giggles i want to run it at the track cause i could launch the **** out of the car w/o any problem having to baby it through 1st
Well you would have to get a pulley that is the stock size to fit the gm stage 2 hub, unless you want to press off the new hub and put the old pulley (that attached directly to the s/c) back on...
It would work perfectly fine... but the old pulley that came with the car just wont bolt onto the new stage 2 hub.

Once your car is a stage II car. It changes the vin code. Your vin number does not change but the status of it does. It will always be known as a stage II car. It is very easy to remove all of the stage II parts and put the stock parts back on. The problem is the tune. GM would charge you an arm and leg to get a flash and return back to stock. It is one big pain in the ass. Your better off selling the car with stage II then without it.
