Question new to the supercharger and basically this whole car

ok i want a blow off valve what one could i get for the supercharger and what would be the best cai now and would it be dumb for me to throw pulleys on it without a exhaust (because i cant really change the exhaust on my car i sorta have to hot rod my car up with out the moms knowing cause she hates that stuff) U know parents. And when will i know when my cobalt ss is done breaking in about how many miles?

General rule for breaking in , is just take it easy for the first 4-500 miles . Take it easy on the clutch too in that time , when your coming to a stop , instead of throwing it neutral .....go thru the pace of downshifting thru the gears to a stop . Try to avoid slipping it as much as possible .

Our type of superchargers do not use a blow off valve like a turbo or a larger output centrifugal supercharger . We use a internal bypass that will vent off extra psi . There is a mod for it when u run more boost , and you can control it manually when u make more boost with a manual boost controller . Your NOT gonna get the pop noise u associate with a blow off on a Turbo car . There is enuff info on this topic to keep reading a entire day

And lastly , there have been a few people that have ran higher boost levels with a smaller pulley and left the CAI and exhaust alone . I wouldnt say it would be dumb , if thats the stated goal to be faster invisibly . Youd still get a NICE gain outa the Intense stg 3 with no other mods or GM claims I think 37 hp hp gain with their stg. 2 kit with no other mods . I havent heard a catback yet , that isnt noticeably louder than stock .

Damn dude, you are new to superchargers. No BOV. Unless it's one of those gay electronic ones. Are you paying for your car? I don't see what your mom could say about you upgrading if it's your money paying for the car. I left my Cavalier stock because my parents bought it for me, so it wasn't really mine to mod. But now that I'm paying for my own car it's a whole new ballgame and I'm free to mod away.

your mom will only notice the CAI if you start to get into the throttle. For exhaust, the Corsa Touring is supposed to be very close to stock sounding in normal driving conditions, but I have only heard clips of the Sport, which is noticably louder.

May I ask, do you have a job??? Also what model 05 mustang was it?

When you say you "got 17k" does that mean some one bought it for 17,000? And when you say you "owed 12" that means you only had to give away 12 grand leaving you with 5 grand?? If i'm on the right track, technically that isn't your money if your mom had bought the car. But whatever floats your boat.

My advice: I wouldn't mod your car as of yet. Maybe little stuff like an intake and 3 inch pulley. That's all I would do. I would start saving up for college.

I'm not trying to be a dick or anything though.

Oh?

Why does it even matter if you mod it or not?

if u put an aftermarket exhaust on the car it will be noticeable even to the oblivious. .... my trailblazer made a racket with headers and and JBA exhaust. so forget about any exhaust upgrades.... the looks are even noticeable 99% of the time.

as for intake. you could certainly get away with it. it sounds louder only to the driver from my experience.... just take into account how car-savy the passenger is.

im at 394miles and still have barely broken 3,000rpm. sometimes 4,000 rpm. the manual suggests no more that 5,000. im babying the car until 500miles. then i'll slowly bring it up to speed and maybe do some race starts at 600 or so. (a more experienced SS/SC driver may offer better input )

as for preference on the intake..... i have been lurking the forums and it seems the injen is most prefered. (althought i have used K&N in both my 99 Trail Blazer and my 04 WRX STi)

not trying to be mean or anything.. but you obviously sound like your are not mechanically inclined on how motors work.. so i wouldnt be to much in a rush of modding until you have done a little more research and more on the "how to" side of things..
