question... please help
Ok so i bought a cobalt SS/SC bout 2 weeks go. I have put about 600 miles on it and tonight i was out and noticed that it didnt seem to have the same get up and go that it had for the first week. The boost is going to between 5 and 10 when i get on it. Everything seems to be running ok and i havent noticed anyting wrong so is it just me getting the feel of the car or is there something else going on? Any help would be appreciated.. thanks
Dude, it's a new car. You shouldn't be hot rodding it around. You've gotta be both easy with the clutch and engine. Whatever you do, do not take it to redline! Well now you have some miles on so its ok, but I sure hope you never went to redline before the first 500 miles
You will eventually hit about 12-12.5 lbs of boost. It will be when you get a little more mileage on the car like around 1200 to 1500 miles. So nothing is wrong with your car. It just needs to be broken and settled in.

Still havent gone to redline! About 5 Grand is as high as i have gone. The dealer fille dit up with 87 octane when i bought it but i have put nothin but 93 in it since. Seems like it is screamin and stops pullin hard way before redline and thats why i dont take it to redline but maybe im just scared..haha! im sure its all in my head but figured i wold ask just to be sure.
Well I believe the user manual says keep it below 4000. I don't think you did any harm though. 5 grand isn't that bad.
However, people do say to get on it once in a while, but only from like 2000 rpms to 4000 and then shift but not floor it! They also say to stay away from the highways so you don't stay at the same speed for too long.
