Questions!
Hi, my name is steve i just bought a cobalt ss about a month ago. I was wondering what are some good mods to go with. Im dont really know much so any help would be appreciated. I was thinking about a cold air intake but didnt know which one. If anyone could help me out that would be great, thanks.

What Stevo... you want to void your warranty? Sure do CAI.
Sadly GM parts/labor will keep you in warranty. Going with a CAI for the SS/SC will void it if they can find some mystical reason why that caused any other problem.

It all depends on your final goal.
If you want more performance, then I would suggest a stage kit (gm for warranty or intense for a little more power but no warranty).
For better sounds, An intake and cat-back sound great and again (gm exhaust for warranty or aftermarket for a little more power gains, An intake could potentially void parts of the warranty that are affected by the intake but not the whole thing.)
If your going for looks (lowering springs or minor mods like painting calipers/ debadge/ shorty antanea are options but body kits, wings, wheels, stc. are limited right now.)
A few must haves that i recommend are at least a stage 2 kit of some kind (just to get a little more raw power to play with), some intake mod to make the sc scream (whether a k&n drop in or full cai) and a torque dampener to help with wheel hop (ingalls is very good).
These forums are also great for searching for mods and others experiences, welcome and good luck with modding.

But...it varies from dealer to dealer on what they deem acceptable.
As for what upgrades to do...just run a search on "upgrades". There's plenty of resources available and quite a knowledge base on most every part available. In the end, it mostly boils down to personal choice.
Good luck with your balt!

Only thing with the CAI is on here I've read that it can cause issues with the stage kits unless you take the time to tune for the airflow cahnge of it as well as the stage kit.

The warranty issue really depends on the dealer. My dealership loves doing warranty work and they never question it when I bring it to them. I am running close to Intense stage 5.
My car is actually in at the dealer now getting the fuel pump replaced cause I was complaining about it.

Why would that be their concern? Wouldn't teh bigger worry be getting the oil from the CAI onto the MAF and or getting water on the MAF?
