your cooling mods have nothing to do with your engine coolant temp.

your cooling mods change your IAT2 temps, which you can monitor with an interceptor, or hptuners.

those temps are not high at all. anything under around 230 is considered normal runnint temp. i wouldn't be worried untill you get over 230-240. anything under that is fine.

also, it's normal for the temp to skyrocket in traffic, or when idling. again, nothing to worry about. the cooling system in the cobalt is based on movement. once you start moving again it should go back down.

and never open your coolant hot, it's under pressure, and you're lucky you didn't get a volcano eruption of super hot coolant in the face.

which coolant tank are you opening....

we have 2 coolant resevoirs.
the main big one up near your PCM, is your engine coolant.
it has nothing whatsoever to do with your cooling mods.
this is also the one that will read temp on your DIC

the other is a small T-neck just in front of your blower,
THATS the one that will be affected by your cooling mods....
and it is NOT able to be read by your car....
