quick belt question?

took off my supachaga yesterday to replace the coupler and what now, noticed i have a huge ass chunk of belt missing. dont know if its from slippage or what but thats what i would assume.

question is, buy a new stage 2 belt or buy the bigger tensioner pully or can you run the stage 2 with the bigger pully?

help is greatly appreciated

Cobalt & Ion ---> ZZ Performance

i have the stage two belt on now but since its getting fd im trying to figure out what this oversized tensioner is all about. on the zzp site it doesnt say what belt would need to be used with it. i have a 2.8 pully btw.

the over sized one is to use a stock belt, just go to the dealer and get a real GMS2 belt. if you got one from ZZP i bet it's not a real one. they are know for chunking out.

First things first if your gonna run a stage 2 belt don't run the zzp one get the gm one.

Possible belt setups

Stock belt----oversized tensioner----2.8 pulley
Stage 2 belt ---stock tensioner------2.8 pulley
Stock belt----zzp tensioner----- whatever size pulley

that's why i said if you had a ZZP S2 belt get a new GM belt. If my S2 belt from ZZP starts to chunk you better believe they will be sending me a new one, since they did the install.

Ideally, this belt is used with a 3.1" pulley. A 3.0 is quite fine. As you go smaller problems can arrise and it's recommended to use our adjustable tensioner instead of the smaller belt. Another option is using our larger tensioner pulley with the smaller belt. We have seen belt failures with nearly all 2.7 and 2.6" pulley users who only run a smaller belt. We have seen many failures with 2.8" pulley users as well.

got my answer
