quik st.2 question

Hey guys i know this is probably a re-post or something but i have a quick question about GM stage2 that i couldnt find the answer to in any other thread. I even looked in the "GM stage 2 faq" thread. But my question is about the ecu. After the install i heard that it takes a while for the ecu/motor to get acclimated to the new a/f ratio so basically the ecu has to learn the new stuff (in a manner of speaking). How long will it take before my stage 2 kit after installed reaches its highest/full level of performance? And also... how should i treat the car until then? Should i beat on it or take it easy until the new a/f ratio is learned along with other things or should i drive it harder?.......

*So basically my 3 main questions are....
1- How long until the ecu "learns" all the new technical stuff?
2- How long until the car reaches its full/highest level of performance? (basically same as 1st question)
3- How should i drive the car while the ecu is taking time doing this, take it easy or drive it hard so it gets acclimated?

Im not much on tuning and diagnostics cause i used to drive an old carb camaro so this is why im confused with this.... thanks

just drive it however you want, thats what i did, mostly beating on it. i'm not sure if there is a deffinate amount of time, i feel like a month is plenty time but i suggest mixed driving, not always beating on it and not always ***** footin it...

The tune takes about 15mins. Once your ecu is reprogrammed you can have as much fun as you want.

The ECM only needs to learn when you add modifications that change pre-learned tables.

A complete ECM re-flash is ready to go, the re-flash will need to re-learn things only if you have previously installed modifications.

I just had stage 2 put on this morning. On my drive into work I was getting up to 15 lbs of boost; as such, I'd say I was seeing pretty much an immediate performance improvement, right off the dealer lot.

I do have a few previously installed modifications, a cai, strut bar and short shifter, but the only one that will be affected is the cai being its the only performance mod. Does that mean that it will maximize the performance of the cai after the flash???? And also, being this other mod is affected, how long till the ecu relearns this one as well????

If you make a ECM learn a modification using previous fule maps and stratagies it may take a while. If you reset the ECM after the installation of a fuel/air/exhaust modification the ECM will adjust to the changes right away and have a new stratagy within miles.

I couldn't have said it better myself.
