so yesterday i was on my way home from a friends house at about 11:30 at night and i just turned out onto telegraph...any of you michigan guys will know telegraph...and i see only two other cars around. light in front of me turns red and i stop. They come up on either side of me, one of em was a black ss/sc the other one was just some mini van. So i look at the guy driving the ss and he smiles and nods, so when the light turns green we both launch. I got a pretty good launch and took him by about a half car until around 50-60 where he started gaining. We shut down at about 100 when my front bumper was a little behind the back of his door. We both pulled into the gas station and talked for a while, his name was chris. Cool guy, i dont know if he is on here, but it was a good race and you guys are quick.

 

4.0 thats a v6 or v8

 

Thats a V6. I have a hard time believing this! Last time I raced a mustang it was my friends 5.0L and i blasted him buy a full car length!!

 

The 4.0's in the S-197's are at worst just as quick as a stock 5.0, if not faster. They're awfully quick for a V6.

And this is coming from a guy with a 5.0

 

the 5.0L made very little horsepower. The V6 makes some pretty good power for only being a V6. 15 years of technology makes a big difference.

 

Non GT mustangs are easily beatable

 

5.0 put down around 180 whp

 

Just curious, are you sure it wasn't a 2.4 SS? Good run either way, there's always someone faster.

 

i raced one earlier but a convertible. I put 5 lengths @ 95. idk if its an A\T. Btw i did not push it too hard.

 

thats cool that you got to race one, i wish our cobalts were rear wheel drive, or all wheel drive

 

it was definately a supercharged, i was talking to the guy and he popped the hood and stuff...im not completely stock though, and the manuals are a good .4 faster in our cars than the autos. I ran a 14.9 stock, and i have a cat-back now which is the most restrictive part of our exhaust and most people see a good 9-10 whp with it, so it came out about the way i expected it to. i love the eaton you guys have...its so sexy. I want one. seeing and hearing that thing is making me seriously consider a roots style over a centrifugal like i was planning at the end of the summer.
