Rack spacer installation question

I'm about to go out and put my car on stands, but before I do I have a quick question - when I unbolt the rack, I don't need to support anything with the jack, right?

For those who've done it - what's the best way of lifting the rack to get the spacers in?

it super simple. un-screw 2 bolts lift up rack slide in spacers tighten bolts... done... go to alignment shop

Yea, you were right Hungry it's not nearly as heavy as I was expecting, hahaha.

The worst part by far was trying to get the damn driver's side bolt out, but then I yanked the passenger side one all the way out and the rack moved much more (I guess that one was hanging in its hole). Just buttoning it up now and then a trip to Firestone.

Thanks for the info folks!

Not sure how it is on the Cobalt but with the Redline the driver's side rack bolt can't come out all the way unless the rack is shifted forward - it was hitting the firewall. :-/

But yea, once I took the passenger bolt out and yanked the whole thing forward the bolt came out with little fuss and I got the spacer in. All in all about 2 hours, but would have been 1:30 had I yanked the passenger side bolt sooner.
