Rattling and clunking

Hey guys need your help again. I was driving the other day and noticed a rattle coming from underneath my car. I jacked it up and found out it was the spring on the exhaust manifold. I took a piece of wood and used it to see if it would stop rattling while it was started and it did. My question is should I tighten it up or what? I am kinda lost since this is my only means of transport right now. Now it does drive good but it does seem a little sluggish when I'm going slow though. Is there anyone who's had this problem? Also when I go over bumps or dips I noticed when I was underneath it trying to find out what was rattling that one of the U-bolts from the exhaust was hitting the cup that holds the spring in place on the bottom. What is the best way to deal with the exhaust, cuz I was thinking instead of changing the rubber mount just use a hose clamp to wrap around it and stiffen it up what do you guys think?
