I have heard many people having issues with the cometic headgasket, the stock lsj seems to be the gasket of choice

Are you sure about that???? This is not my first rodeo, and it does make a big diff..... Synthetic oil is such a good lubricant that it will not allow the rings to seat properly.... Y do you think total seal says to use only conventional oil.... I guess the ring manufacturer is wrong as well and you are right.....Here is cummins saying the same thing....
