the stock ones are mls metal gaskets. they hold more than enough for 99% of the ecotec population. i don't see people on here pushing 700+

I have heard many people having issues with the cometic headgasket, the stock lsj seems to be the gasket of choice

 

after the issues i have seen on cars outside of the ecotec world. cometic ranks well below stock.

 

Are you sure about that???? This is not my first rodeo, and it does make a big diff..... Synthetic oil is such a good lubricant that it will not allow the rings to seat properly.... Y do you think total seal says to use only conventional oil.... I guess the ring manufacturer is wrong as well and you are right.....Here is cummins saying the same thing....
