Unhappy Received old style Injen Intake from Turbo Tech Racing

Okay I ordered my Injen Intake from Turbo Tech Racing just last week. Well I just got it yesterday and open it up to find that I have the old style tube without the dent on top

What do I need to do to get the new tube?

P.S. - Does anyone know what Hydrashield part # fits the filter that comes with our intake

Thanks

^^^ You'd save some cash for one installing them yourself, lol. But PM aaron or make a post in his vendor section and he should take care of ya. He is real cool like that.

lol welll! I'm only 17 and my mom won't let me doo anything myself. Can't put an underbody kit on it without having it professionally done. She's crazy and thinks everything in the world is going to void the warranty.

Yes. My mom is still a freak. I figured instead of me just doing to the intake myself which I know how to do I'd just have them put it in while they do my exhaust since I don't know how to do that. Nor do I have the tools to do that.

I don't know about this dent you guys are talking about. The way you can tell if you have the old design is: On the box there is a date stamped, usually in red. If the date is later than Jan. 25th you have the new one. If the date is Jan 24th or before that, you have the old one. That's it. Trust me I know, I went through it.

Shift an exhaust shop is putting on your intake? Why do you care if you have to get it professionaly installed? your mom pays for it right?

I paid for exhaust and Intake. Paying the 80$ for the dealership who I bought my car from to install them.

The reason it sucks that my mom is a freak is because my Exhaust won't be in until Wednesday and won't be installed until Friday. I am craving the whine so I wanted to install the Intake tonight. She won't let me though lol.

I'm not complaining.. And I am being patient. My original post was.. Do I need the dent, or can the dealership work around it? Then it spiraled into many other things. Whats wrong w/ being 17 and having a ss/sc?

All I have heard on here is that an intake would NOT void the warranty.

It gives dealers more reasons to not fix your car if you have an intake. The only warranty I believe that it might void is the factory intake and if any problem that may occur happends because of the new intake.

pretty easy to swap it with the old air box before you bring the car in for service though.

Amen to that brother.

Ever been to a 3rd world country? I've been to Jamaica and I'm damn thankful for everything I have. There are people out there who can barely afford clothing and shoes and you're driving a $20,000 vehicle.

Just let your mom pay for the stuff bro. It's better than her saying "you can't do this and that".

Since you guys have superchargers, if your supercharger has a problem, they will try and say that your intake caused it and keep on fighting it. Never the less, they have to prove that your intake caused a problem.

If you guys are that worried, just save your stock intake parts and replace it if you have a problem.

First of all I'm not complaining about parts or service. Does nobody see what I originally asked? It was... "Can the dealer work around installing the intake even though it doesn't have the dent in it".

You say let my mom pay for the parts so you can't say those things.. I'm satisfying both of us by having it professionaly done and taking the cost into my own hands since she bought me the car. (Not that me paying for it is a big deal bcuz I at least owe that to her)

Lastly, I don't care about the 3rd world countries not having so many nice things. And just because I am 17 doesn't mean I should give me car up because those people in "3rd world" countries are less fortunate. I donated my dollar.

Jeeze.. I was in a good mood till people started ripping cuz I have an ss.

It will work I never had the hood hit my old intake. You can't expect people not to say something when you are only 17 and have a performance car. I'm only 19 but in the two years from 17 to 19 I have wised up about my driving not to mention I have gotten better. Last if what people say on a forum gets you mad you should probably reevaluate your emotions since you have no idea who is on the other side of the screen.

What dent are you talking about?

Why are you taking your car to the dealership to install aftermarket parts?

You're missing the point of being "thankful". Whether you care about 3rd world countries or not, you should appreciate that you have a vehicle of such high expense because there are plenty of people who don't have. No one is saying you should give up your car because others don't have and no one is saying cause you're 17 that you shouldn't own an SS/SC. Stop trying to look into things that more than you should...I would have said the same thing if you were 23 or any other age (but I'd hope by time your 23 your mom wouldn't be telling you what to do).

Lastly, you opened the door for comments when you gave information that wasn't needed. No one needed to know you were 17, you told us. No one needed to know that your mom is a lunatic, you told us. When you say things on a public forum, people will comment. Honestly, no one cares how old you are, what kind of car you drive or your personal life...if you need help with car or performance things, than just ask for the help.

Sorry if this sounds harsh but this is how I feel. Take it as constructive critisizm.

haha It's cool to speak your mind and say how you feel. Even though I was completely flamed recently for doing so; but I completely respect it.

My mom had called up GM and asked them about how the warranty may be affected or what not when installing aftermarket parts. Even though I already knew and she thinks that nobody on this website knows anything. Anyways.. I guess they told her that it should all be profesionnaly done.. I think it's sweet that the dealership is going to do it for the fact that atleast i'll know it was done correctly. Minus the fact that we gotta pay 80 bucks for them to do an hour of work. BS if you ask me.

The reason I had given up the fact that I was 17 was because people asked why I don't do it myself soo yeah.

Lastly.. When you said.. "Nobody cares about your age,car,....etc".. Well I wasn't asking for anyone to care or need to know about anything other than the fact that I asked basically the same thing the thread starter asked in my first post.. Watev though.. I don't take critism bad

Good luck with everything though. I know what it's like to deal with mothers and modifying.

Sorry if it offends you, but did you just call your mom a freak? That is awesome, even if my mom was a ho, I still don't think I would be like "Yeah my mom crazy yo, she a freak for real..."
