Check the connection underneath the Throttle Body. If it is loose it can cause the Reduced Engine Power. Mine did that after I took the TB off and cleaned it...

Check that connection. It is on the underside of your throttle body. Mine was loose and that is what caused the REP

it's probably a plug if it sounds like a wrx. Either that or you are one of the unlucky few....

Pull your plugs. If you don't know what you're looking for, take some pics and load em up.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say it's no plug and it's def not #4. Mine made the same sound when my plug was loose. I tell you what though, was enough to make me a little worried.

Just kinda wiggle the connection around a little bit. It's a finicky plug for some reason. Turn your car on and see what happens...I am guessing your idle bounces up and down too, right?

I was talking to g85 when i asked that question. I am 95% sure it's either a loose or fouled spark plug.

Ok, it's simple, you're gonna have to take the valve cover off. It's 4 star bit screws you have to take out. Then the plate comes right off. After that you have to undo the 4 connectors for the spark plus. You will need like a 10" extension for a ratchet to get to them though. I forgot what size they, 3/4 or 5/8 I think.

I think it's that plug because I had the same issue with mine like I stated. If that doesn't fix it, then it might be the plugs....I just went with personal experience. Tis all.

Mine did this. Check that connection under the TB. By checking the connection, I mean pull the TB from the car and check the pins inside the connector. Mine actually had 2 bent pins and the plug wasn't seating properly on them, causing the CEL and reduced power. I bent the pins back, CAREFULLY plugged the connector back in, and all was well. Then, if that doesn't work, clean the SCIP and MAF sensors with MAF cleaner, clear the code, and try again. I had a problem with my SCIP and MAF not being in sync due to dirt, and that too threw a CEL and reduced power under load. If that doesn't solve it then check the plugs. It's most likely not a plug but you never know, especially with the cold weather.

And yours was caused by the connection under the TB as well, right?? You have to like wiggle that thing a few times and make sure it's seated well. I don't know why it's so touchy.

That code makes sense with the tb connector. Although, I don't know the code numbers.
