remflex for exhaust leak ?'s
Whats up guys,
I have an exhaust leak so I am going to just upgrade all my exhaust gaskets to the remflex gaskets. I have the Vibrant header/dp and I was wondering if the header to dp flange has the same bolt spacing as the stock header to dp flange? has anyone replaced that gasket or just kept the stocker with the vibrant?

I dont think it does. Actually, I'm almost positive they will be different.
Now, if you were picking up the downpipe to catback gasket, it would be a different story.
By the way, you will love the Remflex gaskets. Have one on my car for the downpipe to catback connection flange. Works great!

That doesnt sound right. The Vibrant header has a completely different collector, and the downpipe is different as well. I do not think it will work.

I just went to a local guy that does some really good work and he had the parts n welded it in for me. I think I payed like 120 but that also included removing my melted cat and putting in a straight pipe
i believe they are the same. i have to do the same thing. i was able to fix a small leak dp-catback while using the gasket that came with my dp and some muffler cement, but its not pretty.

only thing about welding is not being able to remove it without cutting it

8026 is the part number. You need to take a razor blade and cut out the bolt holes so it opens up to allow the studs to pass through but its a good fit.
But after going through a few of these i came up with a better, longer lasting solution: weld the downpipe to the catback.

Remflex is great for the downpipe to catback flange but honestly you're better off using OEM for the engine block and manifold to downpipes connections. I tried a remflex at the manifold-DP and it leaked. I use two OEM gaskets at the manifold to downpipe flange for a leak free seal. Still using the two factory gaskets at the engine block with no leaks after 105k. Stock manifold and downpipes on my car btw.

My manifold gasket is OEM.
I stuck two Walker brand gaskets between the DP and catback. Torqued it tight and it is all sealed up. Tossed some loctite on the DP to header and DP to catback bolts. They had all backed off. Exhaust is all sealed up with no leaks again.
I am not pulling these parts lol. Staying on the car. I wrapped my header and forgot how much of a PIA it made getting to all of the bolts.

my system is finally like ehh 90% leak free. you start hearing a little hiss by 0psi when it used to be really noticeable at 10 vacuum.
think it's either because i used a coppertech header gasket, or my header/dp vband isn't torqued down enough... hard to tell on that one because once you over tighten it snaps without warning so it's tricky lol

amazing, though, i put the header on with a brand new coppertech when my engine was out of the car, allowing a unique oppurtunity to perfectly install it with the proper torque specs and flow pattern. wouldn't think id be having problems down the road lmao.

I use the gm gaskets always.
I used the torque sequence on the header bolts with the head installed. It's a bitch, but I got it.
