Removing converter. Yes or No

As I have posted before after installing a ZZP shorty header my stock converter is resting on my sway bar. If I just remove the converter and run a straight pipe will I see any negative effect to my performance. I know I will get a CEL. Passing emissions isn't a issue where I am either.

If you vote yes please explain

If you vote no explain

Thanks

You shouldnt get any negative effects. Just be ready for your car to get a lot louder. I dont have a cat on my car and it felt faster on the top end once I got rid of it. Hope this helps!

I am not too worried about that since my catback is stock for now. Plus a catted DP is in my near future once the funds are there. This is just temporary since the car isn't hardly driveable with the cat on the sway bar

Thank you for your input I am glad to hear it

Keep your stock downpipe just cut the cat out and weld a pipe in there, and when you get the money just buy a catless downpipe

that is exactly what I just did. I sold the converter for $110 too!!

I just as able to get on this thing after the install of my shorty header and cat removal. Man it is a bigger difference than expected! I love it! Pulls a lot harded

Then...yes.

For me no, for you yes. You'll gain a little bit...but not more than 10hp.
It will sound horrible though.
