Resonator Question

So right now I have a 2006 LSJ, Pacesetter header, OTTP Catless DP, Stock Resonator, Megan Catback, So as you can imagine its quite loud. But resently I've gotta a really bad rattle and after jacking it up and looking for a while I've determined by resonator has crapped out on me. Well, I was looking through prices online and what not and was wondering, How much louder would it be with the resonator taken out vs the rattling one I have now? The Main reason I'm asking are funds are low ATM because I just bought new Tires and the rattle is driving me insane and was thinking about saving some money and putting a test pipe in instead but I'm not sure how much louder it will make my car, not really wanting it much louder if my money allowed it i'd get a quieter catback but thats not an option at the moment.

Short Version: Have rattling (I assume not functioning) Resonator, Will deleting it make the car super loud(er)?

You will have the worst sounding car on the planet.

If your that low on cash, go get the longest cherry bomb you can find at autozone and clamp it in.

Other wise get ZZP whisper resonator or a big body magnaflow xl

how do you have a catback with a stock resonator? there are some cheap resonators out there... i think i've seen a cherry bomb work well for 20 bucks.

if you are worried about sound your best bet is to get a catted downpipe, thats more imporatnt for the noise than the resonator

I don't believe my 2.6 pulley plays well with a catted downpipe

2.6 will work perfectly fine with a cat. A 2.5/ATI will work perfectly fine with a cat.

I'm actually looking for an answer on this as well. I don't think it's my heat shield, but my Megan catback's resonator as well.

Just rattles and rattles and rattles.

What's up with ZZP's Chambered Resonators? I have heard people have been having problems with them. I blew out one of their 2.5" units with my TVS setup and they replaced it. I am now running their 3" system and I have not had any problems and it sounds great.

Anybody hear anything?

This. A cherry bomb run you $20 or so. Good replacement till you have the funds for something decent.
