Restriction?

Have a 2.8 setup with the rest of the bolt-ons. Anyways I have the Vibrant combo and the cat went out in it so I just had my OEM welded in a while back. Is the OEM cat in it that restrictive..would it be worth it to gut it or get a sleeve welded in?

I would say go catless, but sounds like you have emissions eh?

No, no emissions. Just the standard state insp in my area that you can get at any garage mechanic.

sounds like a good excuse to just get a straight pipe welded in there! If the garbage mechanic says its okay

You will probably lose some torque down low. Might pay to go with a better flowing cat instead. I don't think the OEM cat is all that restrictive, but it's not the best either. I would take advantage of that header and flow as freely as possible without losing too much exhaust velocity.

The OEM cat is a high-flo unit. You will not notice any loss in power. I went from a ZZP 3" downpipe with High-flo cat back to my OEM 2.75" downpipe, and did not notice a change other than some low end power that I got back due to the slightly smaller piping.
