Rev limiter?
Rev limiter?
The tach shows a redline of 6500 rpm but last night I noticed that the fuel started to cut off at about 6250 rppm or so, is this about right for everyone else? Thanks for any info folks
Strange then that my car is cutting off at 6250ish. I just got the car this week but I have not beaten the crap out of it, just showing it a few revs
I wonder if it will "loosen" up after a few more miles on the clock?

I've got over 6000 miles on my SS/SC now and it still cuts off at about 6100 rpms. I read on another forums that the RL's have the same issue, and it basically has to do with the guages being inaccurate and slow to respond.
I test drove a few SS's and one of them when I was driving it cut the fuel at about 6.1k and the other one rev'ed all the way to redline. The one I ended up buying I did not beatup like the other ones but after I broke it in it rev's up to redline no problems. strange that one did it one did not do it with about the same amout of miles on it and driving it about the same.
fake edit: that is all

just want to make sure of this. so at the redline it doesn't just cut fuel and fall on it's face it will bounce on the rev limiter? this is important to me as when we autocross there maybe times where we don't want to shift and let it bounce and than go on
This is the first I've heard about the Cobalt SS S/C having a "slow" tach. I knew the Ion Redline had an issue with that, but I figured they had worked it out on the Cobalt
I mean seriously, how hard could it be to build an accurate tachometer?? Its not like it has yet to be accomplished, almost every car these days has a tach and most are spot on. So why can't they just get it calibrated right??
What do you Cobalt owners think?? Does the Tach seem slow??
Perhaps someone has some insight on this issue.
