Roll Back.

Hey, I have an 07 SS/SC. Now a few days ago I parked on my driveway and forgot to put on my emergency brake ( my driveways on a hill) but it was still in gear. When i came back out it was half way down the driveway. So i didn't think to much of it until tonight when i was sitting in it. I had it in first gear with the emergency brake down. As i was sitting there it crept back a little bit almost like it was slipping out of gear and it slipped back a few more times so i tried second and it was the same. The only gear it didn't was reverse. What could be wrong? And is it a major issue. Has anyone else had this problem?

Well yes I should of been using my e brake but I just thought it was strange that it would do that in first gear. I figured there may have been something wrong with my transmission. But thanks guys for your help.

I was just under the understanding that if the car was in gear it shouldn't have rolled back.

Well you should always use the e-brake, but I can back Corey up on this some.. My e-brake went out on my ss/sc with me not knowing (the cable disconnected in the console, just pop the middle console off to reset), my car rolled backward into the road several feet when it was in first gear. Mine would roll quite a ways before it would catch gear, the lower the gear the better of course. It seemed to lurch a lot, much more than other manuals I have noticed, I haven't tried it on the tc yet...

Nearly every manual car will roll some when the e-brake isn't applied.. It takes a few inches for it to hit resistance, even then the resistance of the engine can still turn since the pressure will leak past the piston rings.
