Stock RPM on the cobalt is 6500. Stage 2 gm is 7200. But does any one have an 8000 or more rpm lsj? Just wondering.

that they did actually.

you don't need neutral shafts to run to 8k.
just to be safe is why it is mentioned

you obviously need upgraded valve springs and preferably titanium retainers to hit 8k.

Area - if our cars are "safe" to rev to 7500, why did gm toss the rev limiter back down to 6500?

so for ppl that have the 7k rev limiter now say they go ot gm for some warranty work and for some reason they reflash it..im asuming we would get the 6500 rev limiter..and wouldn't that change the hp and tq #'s of the stage 2 kit?

stage 2 is validated 100 miles on the dyno. they should be conservative thats awesome. Stage 3 is good for 50k miles, then pistons start to crack. No warranty... s'ok.

Typical LSJ in the hands of a noob HP tuner (not area) = #4 piston done no miles no warranty....

if it's true .... that sux about the decreased rev limit on the GM Stage kits for the SS/SC. The 7K rev limit was a big part of the kit . Well, at least my 07' Stage 2 has the original Stage flash with the 7k rev limiter.

the stock cams only make power to 6500ish so its not a big loss.
