So i need to swap my engine and was wondering if anyone ever ran a 2.4 with the stock ss 5 speed trani ? If so would a 2.4 from a automtic trani work ? I keep reading and searching btut seems like no one has tried it . Or so with a 2.2 ???

2.2 and 2.4 shared the same manual transmission, the F23. The 2.0 LSJ and LNF got the F35. LNF version had lower final ratio. Only the F35 had the LSD as an option. Although all the transmissions will bolt up to any block, it's not just a bolt on affair.

 

So if there are any modifications to make would they be difficult ? INternal wiring what exactly ?

 

Figuring the LSJ clutch + flywheel installed height vs that of the LE5/L61. The axles will be another issue. I'm not even sure on the sensors. Linkages might be different. If so, you'd also need the shifter for the center console. That's all I can think of right now.
