Running Strong @17psi

Been running the 2.8"pulley, larger tensioner, powerpaq ecu, for a little over a week now.

Peaks 17psi, switched factory guage out for autometer ultralite mechanical.

It really woke the car up. Pulls stronger through entire band. If I go WOT at 2500rpm, it'll go right to 12psi. 3500 and up I get 15+.

3 inch catback should've been here by now, after thats installed I'm going right to dyno.
I'll post the sheets as soon as I get home.

Awesome, cant wait to see your dyno numbers! I'll predict 225-230whp 4th gear pull.

you should dyno now to get an idea of how much the pulley actually helped and not have it skewed by the exhaust.

Nice, did you get this as a kit and if so from where?
I've been holding off on the pulley because of air/fuel and timing concerns. If the ECU is not with the pulley (kit), is powerpac the name of the maker? If not where can I get one?
Is it programmable from a laptop?

Sorry about all the questions but I want to do this right. Thanks.

Redrocket.

The kit comes from PSI-FI.

The powerpaq is a PSI-FI specific piggy back you can't buy anywhere else. It's computer controlled but they have locked the tune so you can change anything or steal all their hardwork and start selling it on your own. There is software to modify it but like I said they locked it so right now you can't change anything. I think in the future they are going to let you unlock it.

They aren't selling it to the wide spread public yet and are just doing cars close to their shop so they can work out the kinks before shipping it out.

I think the kit comes with the powerpaq, pulley and larger tensioner for the belt, I think you have to do some grinding to give the tension more freedom to tension the belt.

I have installed a 3.25 pulley so far and it was pretty easy to install. You do have to take off the supercharger and you need a freaking 100+ dollar plus tool to get it off and on again (or go to a shop with the tool). The cool thing about the DUB pulleys is you can swap em out really easy once you have their system installed on your blower.

I have followed their progress on the redline boards for some 4 months now. Glad to see they are getting it installed on some SS/SC nows. Wish I lived a bit closer.

I have a shop near me that wants to do the same thing with a Unichip piggy back.

Psi-Fi provided the kit. As of right now they are only doing local installs.

They remove the blower, install pulley, grind nub off the tensioner bracket to accomodate larger wheel, gap plugs to .030, and install the PowerPaq. The ecu they use is an advanced version of the SMT6, from what I gathered.

Kit cost $500. Contact them for install price.

Good group of guys there, def. keep your eye out for it to be released to the masses.

oh well since Turbo said it already it's the SMT-6. THe SMT-6 is made by powerperfect and their website and documentation are OUTSTANDING. The SMT-6 looks outstanding as well. I have looked at the SMT-7 however that won't work on our engine from talking with their tech support.

I think 500 is a sweet deal I can't believe thats what they are selling them for. Are you sure thats no a beta test price?

Hey Zinner, did you ever switch to the Ultra Quiet resonator in your 3inch catback?

I ordered from Altered Atmosphere, they've been waiting on them resonators for awhile. Now the catbacks finally ship Monday.

I was just wondering how it sounds? Can't wait!

Ooops, didn't know it was a secret. Sorry.

Yeah, please don't hold me to anything people. I don't represent Psi-Fi in any way, I'm just another satisfied customer.

I'm the first CobaltSS they've done, so prices very well may change. I know the install is gonna be more for the cobalt than redline, because the SS requires blower removal.

Zinner, Turboeco, thanks for the info. Agreed, 500 is sweet, almost too good.
Also interested in the exhaust (Zinner), resonator?
Was thinking of 3", but don't want to attract too much attention (cops).
It's bad enough I drive a RED car,

Yeah they just did it today, so I think they got the resinators in this week.

I am getting my car back tomorrow morning.

The stock system has no hub. It's just a solid pulley the SFPH has a DUB system that includes a hub and a pulley ring and you can buy different size rings...

My exhaust hasn't attracted any cops yet. It's not that loud.

Sounds sweet guys can't wai tfor the dyno's. Let me ask you, for someone that has has average skills under the hood, would you recommend that I could put a 3.25' pulley on myself or get a mechanic to do it???? Also , Zinner, I am asking you this cause you have the size I am getting, did you need to buy a smaller belt for the slack?? If so was that hard to put on ? Cause when I look at the engine, there is not a lot of room where the pulley is. I know i have to get that tool as well too.

you have to take off the blower to change the pulley... you should take it to a machine shop and let them press it on for you.
