You will be fine. Just don't go any lower than 2.8 with 42's.

its worth it...there are quite a few people that run a 2.8 and stage 2 tunes. Just remember that the duty cycle increases when your in the higher rpm range. If you don't race or take the car deep into the rev's it might be worth it to go to the 2.8. Does pulley boys sell a 2.8 or 2.9..??

think they got a 2.8, not to sure about a 2.9. I don;t ever go to the track.. try not to beat on the car as much.. but I like giving it a little bit of throttle on the highways and such.. I sometimes go in to redline. but not to often..

I have been looking into this as well. The 2.9 would be the safest bet from I have been reading and this is where I have found one that you can get to match the gm hub. Just got off the phone with them would take upto 2 weeks max to get the pulley. http://www.cobaltperformanceparts.co...roducts_id=336

The one in the pic is not the one you get. I just talked them. They make any size you want to fit the gm hub. Takes them about 3 days to get it machined for gm hub. And you use the existing bolts as well.

Hey Doc, thnx for gettin back to me. I would go with the pulley boys but dont want to worry about the injectors with the 2.8. That's why I have been searching for 2.9 to fit the gm hub

Greg Gm stage 3 is 76.0 mm which is a 2.99"(3.0)if I'm not mistaken. Your stage 2 is 77.9mm which is 3.07". If you want a 2.9, some guy on ebay name Nate will make any size you want to match your GM hub. And they say he does a good job too. I'll pm you his email address. ttyl

I have a 2.85 on my GM 2 kit. I had Nate make this for me. He is on this site and does this for the public. He will be cheaper than other vendors on this site and he does top notch work. Mine works fine with the 42lb injecters. This is as low as I would go, and Nate backed this up. Just put a good set of colder plugs and it will work fine.

That was CobaltPerformanceParts that makes them. I was considering the gm stage 3 pulley, but there are others the same size for almost half the price.
