SC to TC

What would i be spending?? I'm kinda torn by how the S/C won't give me that TQ i want. Even though i still havent installed my custom kit. My buddy's srt-4 just blows me away on how fast it pulls and I want that kinda power.

SRT-4 Neon right? 212 Hp with 240 ft.lbs is a bit higher than the SuperCharged model but with a little bit of work. you should be beating him unless he has things done, that you wont tell. only thing that i know is not to race turbo cars at higher speeds. supercharger just aint cutting it at 100 MPH. You need GM/ZZP Stage 2 performance kit. then you'll be good. =)

2 diff motors and ecu's. You would be better off just turboing your lsj. Easier to get more power anyway. just look at a turbo kit, zzp makes them or get a bigger SC...idk what your real question is though. You want more power? or you want to go turbo? or you want to beat a srt4?

the turbo kit seems just as much as a twincharged kit and the twincharged kit is better right?

I want to be able to keep up with these turbocharged cars and my 2.0 sc won't unless i do a 2k$+ work

SuperCharged Cobalts are good. you just have to know what to put in it to help at high rpms cause the SC is at its best low-mid rpm. Stage 2 kit is your best choice. zzp has a custom kit where you choose what size pully, how much pounds of fuel you want taking in with a variety of fuel injectors and a smaller serpetine belt. you just have to do your own tune. zzp can do it for you but i don't know how. i only know a little bit. GM does a retune for you though.

alrdy got a wideband uego,2.9,42's and stg2 belt just gonna wait for DP and Tune. I just hate how are cars are naturally slow without upgrading the blower to another 2k blower or going turbo

a twin charge kit isnt necessarily better....its different. If you dont want to spend $2k then you wont be "fast". You can get meth and pully down, with the right cooling mods put some power down but if you want big power go with a turbo kit.

I'm not saying it's an incorrect statement, being a fanboy, or any of that sort...but this is coming from a supercar drivetrain in a fat suit.

5,618 lbs.

A "Viper" with a stock 1/4 time of 14.2.

A well tuned 2.9" or lower would handle a stock "Viper truck".

Just sayin' man...

Skip the silly power mods. Upgrade the suspension and start dodging cones. You'll be amazed at the high dollar/high horsepower cars that the cobalt can be competitive with.

In regard to your question - Its the downside to supercharged 4 cylinder powerplants. Its easy to get mild bolt on power but very difficult/expensive to go after big horsepower numbers (compared to turbo cars). Know the platform and be sure of your goals before you invest.

idk if urs is just slower then most then but i was able to pull on srt4 neon when i only had intake and a HX. our cars a underated and i think that there actually pretty quick for what they have and come with. offcourse an lnf is much faster cuz is turboed and makes more power but lsj have as much as potential. u cant just expect to make it faster without spending much. just make sure u get a good tune and ull be set with this new set up ur going with. but if u want real power u might want to go either tvs or tubo ur lsj. m62 wont kill most turbo cars out there but it defenately hurts alot of feelings lol

plenty other ways to go faster on the m62 need to open your mind, that said 300 or so is going to be your max unless you spray. turbo ftw.

1. I never mentioned anything about my truck. I simply said what i said because i owned a cobalt and it always failed to meet my expectation. Whether it was horsepwer, ET's or whatever...only thing it was good for was gas mileage.

2. 2,600lb car vs a 5600lb truck....gee, thats a no brainer...

3. Weight being said... you take a stock SRT-10 vs a stock SS/SC, the SRT-10 is going to win, hands down, even with 3000lb extra lbs. You want to start throwing mods? Fine, a 2.9 and a tune, my truck will still take that with intake, exhaust and tune....once again...hands down.

Dont start **** if you can back it up. Unless you owned a SRT-10, i suggest you keep your posts to yourself.
