Ok, so i'm up against this built prelude on saturday on the way to 28. We come to a light, I launch hard (3000RPM drop), and it pulls beautifully with no hop at all. Throw it into second.......it just revs, no power, just revs, throw to third, same thing. So I coast over to the shoulder, comes to a stop, shift into first and take off, 2nd and third work fine.

Next light, pull up, launch hard, pull to second..... it just revs, third, same thing.

WTF. If I don't pull first hard I can get a shift into second and lay into it, but why can't I launch hard without 2nd being reatarded, and what is the problem anyway?

 

It sounds like your clutch cant handle the amount power you layin down at WOT.

First off all your car must be fucked if it doesnt spin and wheel hop at a 3k launch in first w/o mounts. Anyways i thinmk you might have messed your tranny up or your clutch is gone.

I have ETD and mounts, so the no hop is normal. Guess I need to upgrade to the Stage 3+ w/flywheel?

 

Yep like the others said, it is your clutch.

 

+1 for clutch. Same thing my old 3000GT did, except change hard launch with mild start and add lots of miles on that old clutch so i got spec stage 2 and it was good to go.

 

besides for clutch did you think your syncros could be bad from misshifting and its not locking in properly (trannywise)
