SCcobaltSS Buildup

This thread was made to help me figure what i need for my build. Please dont try to say anything on NOS, that it isnt the way to go do this do that. I strictly want to know what I need.

You can see my current mods in my Sig. Besides any of that what will I need to put a 150 shot of nitrous to my engine. I need everything to get a price (Clutch, Pistons, Nos, Axles, etc.) Plese give Name brands and type and where to get it please.

before you think about a 150 shot. think if your fuel system can support that, and if the motor can use all 150 of it.

Elaborate?

An engine will use 150 shot if I build it right. Thats the point of the thread. I need some knowledge on what to buy. Fuel system 60#? Better fuel pump? Thats what I need to know. I am clueless about these newer computerized cars thats why I turn to people that do. Please Help.

the fuel system barely supports 60 lb injectors. if you throw a 150 ontop of that, it kills the fuel pump. now, what i mean by injestion of all 150 of the jetter nitroous and fuel is simple. a motor can only use so much nitrous. the only way to tell is either chassis dyno, or engine dyno.

if you are dead set on it. you will have to do a return style system, and a bigger fuel pump. like an msd, or aeromotive.

Good luck with this build. You're going to need forged pistons for sure. I forget who makes them for us...but I'm sure someone will chime in. As for the return style fuel system...let me know how that works out for you. I'm a fuel system mechanic for aircrafts, and was wondering how this set up would work for our cars. heh

Good luck bro

diamond, and i think arias... but not sure

whats a good compression ratio for this guy, area47?

you'd probably need to check out www.crateenginedepot.com

they have rods and all the good stuff, but no pistons.

nitrous oxide is happy with high compression, but the blower makes one drop that down to perhaps 10.0:1.

with a 2.8 pulley, 42.5 lb injectors. return style system. aeromotive tsunami pump. aeromotive regulator, with the "fix". forged pistons, forged rods. arp stud anything and everything. exedy clutch. dss axles and slicks. with just that alone should net a high 12 second pass IF tuned right. plus the bottle of top of that should be easy 11's

this is just a quick off the top of my head deal really.

Eagle. You can get them from TTR for $320(call Eagle for 2.0 specific part). Also, you can get pistons from Diamond for a hell of a lot cheaper then $600. Call them directly, it only costs $375 for the pistons and $100 for rings.
