Problem seafoamers?
does anybody have experience with seafoam? maybe i'm just stressing about nothing but heres the deal...
cliffnote: its still smoking after atleast 20miles and an hour of being on. did i leave the seafoam in too long before starting the car in the first place or does it not matter
06 lsj, 55000 miles. runs good. ngk bkr7e spark plugs gapped to .32
stage 2 few other mods probably running rich idk yet
for my routine oil change yesterday, i thought i'd add some seafoam into the mix...
i bought two bottles.
one bottle went half into the oil, other half into my gas tank
drove home from autoparts store to change the oil.
when i got home, i inducted 1/3ish of the other can into a vacuum line, shown here

after turning the car off, i proceeded to change spark plugs (had misfire code so what the hey) and clean out my trottle body (definately routine for lsj's
)
then i started the car for just a minute so i can get it on 2x4's so i could jack the car up. she was smoking pretty good.
turned the car off so i could change the oil before it got too hot.
changed the oil. 6 quarts 5w30 mobil 1 and mobil 1 filter.
after that, start the car, pull it out, let it run for a bit while i washed my hands and cleaned up. then i took the car around the block. smoking like crazy. got it back home, let it run for a while more, then went to see friends. got there, revved it up for a few minutes, let it idle for a minute, cut the engine. a little while later drove it home. still smoking...
this morning i took it to work (5-10 minute drive) then home for lunch. even on my way backto work... STILL smoking?
whats the deal here? last time i did this it only smoked for like 5-10 minutes and i didn't even drive it..
did i leave the stuff in there for way too long before starting it? is this stuff prone to eating away at my gaskets and rings and **** in the engine?

haha.
i mean i know this stuff can't be TOO strong, if it can be used in so many ways, they probably make it so a retard can use it and not blow their motor, but i'm just like... its been smoking too long whats the deal? its just burning away all the old gunk inside the engine but it cant be that dirty! its only got 55000 miles

^^i definately just submerged the line into the bottle and had my brother rev lightly while i did it. according to the 'proper how to' i did it wrong.
You should be fine, the reason why you should not just submerge the line in the bottle is it is said there is a chance of drawing in too much seafoam and may hydrolock the engine. Seing has you have been driving it for a while its not hydrolocked. Your just still burning off residual left over especially if you put in your gas tank.

idk maybe i'm just one to fall for the 'gimmicks' but i figured what the hey, its easy and is proven to help get rid of carbon and gunk buildup. start it while the engines young, keep doing it later, keep the engine running good
You are only supposed to use a third of a can in each spot! My guess is you wanted to do an extra good job ? Next time read the directions . You are just burning off the half cans you put in. It's alright they say you can actually put it in and keep it in after oil changes. I never have but ohwell you can rob a bank now and get away batman

yea i dont think you are supposed to use that much. 1 can max. i dont think i even used a full can for mine. I did some in the vac line on my intake manifold and a little in my oil. Smoked heavily for a few minutes then a little smoke for about 5 minutes of driving.
