Second try.. Major Exhaust Question..

Well this is my second try at this.. first time i get no help or advice.. so lets see if there is any other cobaltss users out there that may actually care..

Ok, so i just put on my header and downpipe from cobalt addiction. I had a gmpp catback exhaust on there for already. But i'm havin the most annoyin noise comin from my car. Thing sounds like a honda going up the street. Now i kno that my 2.5 in catless downpipe casues alot of raspyness and that so called honda noise. But this is different, its only when im drivin really slowly through the rpms: it buzzzess. lol it's around 3k to 5k that it makes this little tingy sound.. sounds like an exhaust leak or somethin is rattling. But there is honestly no way that it can be any of those. I just can't figure out wat it is ive never heard it come out of these cars and all the videos ive ever looked at never had it as well. They were just raspy and more annoyin lol.

My question or solution is put a high flow cat on the downpipe?? Maybe add a resonator somewhere either on the downpipe itself or another one somewhere in my cat-back?? I've completely checked the system for leaks ect. All gaskets are new and bolts are completly tight. Just for some reason can't figure this out?? Any help?? Thank you

its either 1 of 2 things a leak, or your catless downpipe....

Ok.. i finally appreciate some help on here.. thank you guys but first off there is possibly no way it is an exhaust leak i've checked everythin personally myself, sealed up every flange/ joint aswell as had a professional check it the same way i did.. nothin.. but with you sayin it is the catless downpipe i've heard alot of cobalts that sound badass with them on there.. my buddy up this way has the same set up as me just with a borla catback instead of the gmpp.. dont ask me why lol.. but anyways his car sounds good as **** still raspy and all but that buzzin noise isnt even there!! I just can't figure it out on my car??

Do you have the 02 sensor bung plug?

My 07 LS has the SS/sc exhaust manifold, so the 02 sensor goes in that, but it still has a hole in the DP as well, and that has a little screw in plug.

That thing goes loose on me every once in a while, and it sounds like ****!! Rattling and buzzing loudest from 3-5K, but it still does it all the way down to idle. The more air that moves through there, the more it rattles.

If you don't have that plug, check your 02 sensor, since it will make the same sound if it is loose.

ok well im just givin up lol.. the car sounds mean WOT and idle plus drivin normal, im just gonna keep myself outta 3-5k rpm drivin slow area lol.. there is no leaks or anythin but im guessin its just without the cat.. but the power difference is amazing so i guess you gotta sacrifice a lil sound for power.. thanks guys

its the catless. I had a CA header, CTI 3" catless, and GMPP exhaust, and it was so obnoxious and annoying, im kinda glad i wrecked the car...lol but yeah, it was pretty bad.
