seriously thinking of buying this

the badmab header for the lsj. had a link but its not working.

the only bad reviews ive seen so far are the nuts/bolts. sounds like a deal I cant pass up on. anyone have anything negative to say about it? other than the bolts/nuts?

mine was making a popping noise at cruising speeds. could really only here it at 60 mph or faster. after 20k miles, the popping noise turned into a leak. the weld on the first cyl runner was cracked halfway around the pipe. they say that it has a lifetime warranty, but i didnt save on to the receipt and brad at badmab wouldnt email me back about it. oh well

ive been too lazy to take it to another exhaust shop and get it rewelded. that popping noise drove me nuts forever lol, so stock will do fine until i get over being lazy

the gaskets they send suck as well. just reuse the stock gaskets. at least the front one, you might need a new rear one, but might not

they send standard bolts. the close equivalent in metric fit better. this is the same for the stock manifold as well

There's not many choices of a headers that will allow you to use a standard down pipe. (shorty)
Badmab and GMPP, besides stock. Hahn shorty, but super expensive. And ZZP used to have a shorty, IIRC.

The header is decent. It's fairly cheap too. It's a good deal for someone not looking to go past stage 3 or so. But a shorty header on our cars is a huge restriction once you go past a certain point. If you got the money then definitely go with a ZZP lt

well being super poor im having to go one part at a time. so in the future I would be getting an aftermarket downpipe. my car has some type of exhaust but I have no idea where stock ends and ghe new stuff begins.https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/2-0l...xhaust-299277/

if you compare the pricing of the longtube headers from zzp and a zzp down pipe/ badmab header, your looking at a 150ish dollar difference. if you can save up and go longtubes, thats the best option.

if you are patient, wait till zzps black friday sale, they usually do 1 or 2 longtubes at half price iirc
and even more at like 30 and 20%

Do not reuse stock gaskets. Don't be cheap, go to CED and buy genuine GM

If the gaskets are still good then they are ok to use.

Maybe saving up for a quality part or different part is a better idea? Instead of buying cheap parts that are meh and having to fix or replace later?

Do you even have stage 2 gmpp? Real intake? tune, pulley, heat exchanger, motor mounts, etc?

I have had one on my redline for 4 years and hasn't leaked once. Properly prepped surface, proper gasket, proper torque sequence, And a Retorque after 2 heat cycles and been fine since

I had heard/read that the badmab was a good header, just cheaper.

as far as anything else nope. just airbox mod and w.e exhaust is on the car. when I buy the header i was looking into buying a HE and possibly a dual pass endplate all at the same time. or maybe just one or the other for now.

Don't be afraid to check out used parts either. As long as they are still in good shape.

when it comes down to it, as long as you feel safe buying the badmab header. Go for it.

oh ive def seen some used for sale that I want lately. just underfunded at the moment. Its all dependent on what I want and whos selling what when I can afford it. like now I hafta buy a rim cuz mine is cracked. so thats a setback.
