Any intake runs the risk of turning the CEL on. Just get an intake and stage kit and the tune will fix it

i would say search, but then he might find an older thread. the only intake worth much is the zzp 3 in. and even that isnt gonna give noticeable gains. if you want to be quicker, go with a stage kit. slap a 3 inch pulley and some 42s on or a 2.8 and 60s. get a wideband and find someone to tune it.

go to advanced search.... make sure you're in the LSJ section... and go from there.... It's really, really difficult.

This is what you want to buy. The install is straight forward and I've yet to get a CEL. Make sure to pick up a hydro shield from K&N as well since the giant air filter sits pretty low.

ok thanks and the k&n hydro guard, does it restrict any air? or negatively affect it and how much water does it actually prevent from going in?

It does not restrict any air but it does keep out fine particulates as well as the larger stuff that likes to get stuck between the pleats. I highly recommend it. As for the water, it will keep any small splashing from getting to the filter, but if you submerge it, you're screwed.

That said, with all the covers in place, it won't be seeing much water unless you dunk it. I'd be more worried about the hose clamps losing tension on a downward facing filter.

also when you search, make sure you use the topics and not all posts. all posts will bring up ANYTHING within those forums specified with that key search word.

I wish the forums would inject a child-safety feature..when you post after clicking 'new thread', it pops up asking 'have you searched 'these threads yet'? I think ecotecforum or another one Im on does that. Cant remember right now. Or when a new member posts without more than 10 posts or something, they are required to do a 'search training' like in shooter games. When you have to go through a range, practicing crouching, aiming, etc. After 10 successful 'searches', you're allowed to post. just sayin...

In my opinion, I am sick of these 'use search' posts. If you do not want to contribute, dont post. I guess we should all stop posting then because every single topic has come up before. How about we all do that?

I'm actually in the middle of making a Cobalt SS wiki. It'll be mostly SS/SC stuff, but I am going to compile all the best info for things like the intake, exhaust, etc and put it on one wiki nest.
