Stage 2 / question

Hey guys, so im currently running an 07 sc balt with a bad mab header, 3 inch hahn catted dp and a 3 inch zzp catback, and also an injen cai. I am getting a little bored with the power its making at the moment and am looking at staging it, basically i want to know what would be the most reliable setup with decent gains that ill have fun with, i need reliable because i do construction and drive 100-130 miles a day. I'm looking at the zzp stage 2 kit, but am leery on what pulley size and if ill be okay without cooling mods and such, any input would be awesome thanks guys! -Jeremy

You really don't need 3" exhaust unless if You go beyond 300hp. But You already got 3" Exhaust that lose alittle horsepower on the top end. I am on 3" ZZP Catted with 2.5 exit with 2.5 ZZP Exhaust. I have 50# on 2.8 pulley with all the cooling mods from ZZP for faster recovery time. I have ZZP 3" CAI most guys here had Injen gone to ZZP. My car has been pulling n pulling LIKE HELL! Just go with ZZP Stage 3, Get Custom Tune after that. You will have a HUGE SMILE ON YOUR FACE!

Don't waste money on a stage kit, your paying for the convience. Shop the for sale section and go with 2.9 50/60 injectors and a stage two belt. Cooling mods on a 2.9... meh not needed unless you want to.

I am on 2.8 n when I go WOT. My tuner showed my IAT2 don't go above 135 degrees at 85 degrees outside that time I got my car tuned during the summer. I will be porting my Supercharger to get better degrees.

If you have 93 or better fuel, snag a 2.8 Its the best of both worlds. It doesnt overspin the blower too hard and create a ton of heat, but it gives quite a bit of torque.

Here is what your list should consist of, trust me on this:
2.8 pulley
60# injectors if on 93 (80# if you want E85, if its available do that)
dual pass
option B
Front mount Heat exchanger or Griffin
3" intake. There are a few companies that make them (zzp, ottp and others)
The exhaust you have should be fine.
Interceptor gauge to watch for knock and other stuff (its worth the 250 bucks)
Hit the gym so you are strong enough to control the torque steer in 2nd!
And obviously a custom tune!

very true yelcal. I would hope he can go E85 though always a better option. But if he wants to eventually go TVS he will need at least 60's thats why I suggested them

2.7 80s e85 <--- this is what u want op jk

U should be good with 2.9pulley 50s/60s injector and bigger tensioner pulley. Consider some cooling mods tho for the summer, either dual pass or a upgraded h/e.

do you need to run a header/downpipe for a stage 3 kit? I was looking at going with ZZP's stage 3 kit, but I only have a catback & intake, so I wasn't sure if I would need to purchase headers and a downpipe to make sure it would run correctly. Also will be doing a custom tune on 93 octane

you're going to see a lot more power with a more free flowing exhaust. less back pressure = less boost, but = more power

Ok, the 3" exhaust isnt bad, but its better suite to the TVS. It will lose power on the M62.

very true. I was told from a local tuner that if I went with the stage 3 kit and didn't have a header/downpipe that I would burn up my internals...I think it would be fine without them myself, I just wouldn't get the most potential out of it.

nope stock header. I wanna get the ZZP stage 3 kit, but wasn't sure if a header & downpipe is a must need to go that route. If it is, I will go with the ZZP header/downpipe set-up. My plan is to go with that stage 3 kit(2.8 pulley) and then get a custom tune.
