quick intake question

i currently have a injen CAI and would really like to get a new intake. the injen came on the car when i bought it, it seems decent but i dont like it. i was wondering if there are hot boxes you can get for any type of intake not just injen but any other brand.

thats a pic from my buddies impala with a hot box

You mean something like this. Mazda 3 Carbon fiber intake system-Simota intake for mazda-carbon fiber intake

They don't have the Cobalt listed. But maybe since they are all custom built they could come up with something.
I know guys that have them on their 3's and they are nice.

do you have a CAI or a SRI? if you have a CAI then you shouldnt need a hot box since the filter is in the wheel well

Was just gonna say the same thing. OP said 2006 SS/SC, so SRI is not an option, therefore a hot box is really not necessary.

either way a sri on the blower isnt smart. you want cool air so the ait's are good. its simple having it in the fender. just take off the headlight and bracket. 10 minutes TOPS u can change the cai or change your filter

The AEM intake for the SS/SC is not a short ram. It is a cold air intake.

The LSJ comes with a cold air intake from the factory, and AEM saw fit to only replace the air box & filter.

No need for a hot box. Stick with the Cold Air intake for the SS/SC. Honestly, as far as I know, no company has made a short-ram for the SS/SC's.

That AEM kit is meant to install onto the factory intake tube.
