setting timing

hey could someone tell me or show me (PICS) what is the easiest way to set the timing with the engine in the car.

there is a notch on the balancer and a mark on the timing cover use a mirror to line them up and that puts number 1 at tdc for timing then line up the colored links accordingly u can also reference the gm sport compact build book for detailed instructions

What he said.

Pink links goes on the exhaust and blue to the intake. I have done this about 4 times now. Torque the cam gear bolts to 65 ft. lbs.
