Shift Light

this is going to sound super noob, but i sat down and looked at the owners manual to find out what the little light to the right of my fuel guage is, and its a shift light. i thought thats what the logo represented, but i've never seen it light up. is it deactivated in the SS/SC? or is my balt just being reatarded.

7500?? wait, theres no way, im stock as far as tune goes, and my rev limiter kicks in at like 6500, i learned to drive stick in my balt, so sadly i've found out the hard way. i've never seen it go on. wouldn't i have to be running stage 3 or a custom tune to hit that RPM?

There's a video of it coming on...But the guy is shifting at like 8000 rpms and it just blinks for a split second...it doesn't even really stay on. HPTuners gives you the ability to change the rpms of when it turns on, but it doesn't work for some reason.

either way just get a raptor shift light (http://www.raptorperformance.com/) if you want a nice shift light

First time I saw it. I was scanning on HPT and missed third. The light flashed for a split second, and when I looked at the scan file, it showed that I had reved to 7850 rpm

i don't need the shiftlight bro, i was just curious as to why i never saw it kick on. besides, i don't drive with my tach unless im racing, and i want to shift at the ideal RPM's. other than that i think i can speak for a lot of guys by saying i just shift by the sound and feel of the car.
