Is the shift light suppose to work on this car. I had mine for almost a year not and realized that it's never come on. Not that I need it to tell me when to shift but I though it would have it? Just wanted to ask the silly question to see if it should work. Thanks.

 

no, it only comes on when stage III is in the car

 

That's what got me thinking about it actually was reading the post on the stage III when going into 100 octane mode. Thanks.

Actually, in the SS/SC it is not a shift light. It is an engine over-rev light and if it comes on you did something stupid and are most likely about to go into limp mode.

 

for some reason i feel like i remember reading about it in the manual and im pretty sure it said it was a shift light. just what i remember but i could def be wrong.

 

it is a shift light.. some peoples work some dont.. mine does.. its perfect. ive tried racing down the drag using just the light and then hitting redline. and with the shift light its .1-.2 faster.. so some people just have shift lights that do not work lol

 

The only time anyone with an SS/SC, at least people on the board, have set it off was during a bad over rev. We figured that out back a couple months before you joined.

SS/SC... Not the 2.4L which you have. So your whole post is a waste of space, since we all already know that all the 2.2L and 2.4L work as shift lights.

yeah you do, its there in the dash but it dosent come on for you lol

 

two ways it will come on in an sc car.

one. stage 3
two. rpms hit 7500.

it is there. it works. most of you will not see it as it is

 

Well I'm not planning to get stage 3, so I sure hope I never see the little guy.
