The AC Delco filters are as advertised (when they say they have a certain feature such as a drain back valve, they do), they have to conform to OEM specifications. I believe that there is test results out there that show the AC Delco, Mobil 1, and Wix filters are the best you can get. Surprisingly, the K&N oil filter didn't test too high (still above average). I am to lazy to find the link right now. The Purealator was rated very low IIRC. The Napa Gold, I believe, is a rebadged AC Delco or made by them.
If I had my choice, I would use AC Delco or Mobil 1...you can't go wrong with those two!

Fram filters are the most cheaply made filters on the planet. You can either see through the filter, or sunlight dones't evne pass through it when you streach them out brand new. No quiality control whatsoever. Puralator AC Delco Mobile and WIX are all good filters, As is K&N.
Fram however seems to just make them like Dell makes computers, bottom barrel price > quality.

It said it was made in the UK
I will get my filters from GMpartsdirect in the future as they have good prices and don't screw you on shipping
Just for the record that the majority of oil filters that are made are done by one company called WIX. All they do is make the filter for various companies and slap their name on it. I am not 100% sure if this is true for the filter for the cobalt but i wouldnt be surprised.
Fram sucks period. My engine oil was the most dirty oil I pulled out of my car after 3000 miles with one. I will never buy a Fram again.
I wish Mobil 1 or K&N made one for our cars, because they are the best bar none!

No one has an OEM filer for the 2.0 SS. Here is what is offered:
AutoZone:
Fram: $7.19
STP: $8.79
Advanced Auto Parts (Parts America):
Fram: $8.88
Pureleader: $8.68
Now some may not care, but the design of these filers are a bit different then OEM….and I want the OEM filer in my car! (made in Germany)
So I have spoke with Tom at Crate Engine Depot and he is looking to offer us the OEM filer at a special price.
Any interest? I know I want to pick a few up

If hey looked the same I would not have a problem with it. They don’t so I rather use OEM. Besides, 6 for $30 is a killer deal!
Just kidding there. Seriously though, some people have really chewed up their filter caps by trying to unscrew them with pliers or vice-grips, or maybe their teeth, I'm not sure which.
