Ok here we go I went and bought one today its a Bosch Premium Oil Filter; part #72215, I've searched on the internet for it but came up empty handed so maybe someone else can find it and give a direct link to it, or maybe even a vendor here on the site can get a hold of them and sell them. We'll good luck...

I dunno if it helps you out at all but the K&N ch7000 is almost identical to the ac delco and is 13.99 at murrays/o reileys autoparts stores.

 

i have always ran the K&N. never had no porb. i run then in my car,truck,quads, etc. you can order them from autozone, pepboys, kragen, etc. any place that carries k&n... sometimes they even have them in stock, 1 out of every ten times lol.

yeah i also use bosch premium filter, ran me about 12-14 dollars. noticed slight difference with my idle and rev. but who knows that could just be from changing the oil. i know bosch is a huge hydraulic company. used to work for them. so i can trust their products. only thing i could find around here without ordering one offline and i wasnt puting a 7 dollar filter in lol. got it from my local autozone

i've always had good luck with AC Delco and Wix. I'd trust some paper towels over a fram filter...

 

Stock has always been more than fine for me.

OEM doesn't always mean superior, your oem filter is probably made by the aftermarket company you despise.

But in all honesty... if I had to pick a filter, I would go with the Mann filter (german company)





Anyone who actually knows anything about oil filters can tell that is a good unit. But then again, anyone who knows about anything about filters wouldn't stress about a cartridge filter that already has tons of filter media with a built in anti drain back valve.

 

I use Mobil-1. It is not a paper/cardboard element like the others available. It is a high tolerance synthetic fiber that is woven together. It holds much more crud than an ordinary filter, and it also provides better oil flow.

 

One filter you can sure count on and I know I do....they are the WIX oil filter p/n is 57082....ever since I bought my Cobalt LE5 in February 2009 I've been using it together with mobil 1 5W-30 full synthetic oil....they also offer the fuel filter, air filter,and cabin air filter for our Ecotecs....they look and smell fine haha....

These filters can only be found online at wixfilters.com or at your local O'Reilly Auto Parts Store....no where else....these filters have worked awesome in my Cobalt LE5 since i bought it in Feb. 2009....and now all my filters are WIX....My Air, Oil, Fuel, Cabin Air filters are protected by WIX filters....except tranny for I have a 5sp. manual and not an automatic....

I honestly paid the $20 for K&N filter. I just think its cheap insurance.

you can get a delco filter at advance auto for $4-5 i think... if not cheaper.

 

why not just run this an adapter like this and just run a normal screw on oil filter?????

 

It costs a little bit more but AMSOIL has 15,000 mile filters now for the LSJ's I know for sure and I know from experience that my engine has also done well to run 15,000 miles on the Signature Series 0W-20 Full synthetic oil. I've been a dealer for over 2-3 years now running 0W-20 and I wouldn't recommend anything I wouldn't use in my own car. Before AMSOIL made their newer 15,000 mile filter I always liked using WIX filters. They are good down to around 0.14 microns but i didn't go more than about 8,000 miles without changing them. To each his own though.

If anyone needs a part number or more information let me know and I'd be glad to help even if you go through an AMSOIL dealer closer to where you live. I'm always happy to help others whenever possible.

As much as everyone hates fram, they finally made a decent filter. Called fram ultra. Felt filters with metal housings too, not paper/plastic. Only cost $10

 

Damn The OEM oil filter is only $5.00 a filter out here in Arizona at the dealership
