Side exhaust...

So I sent an email to ***** at CTI that makes the side exhausts for srt's. I got one back from him the next day saying that hes prototyping one next week for sound/performance and to email him back this time next week.I dont know about all you but side exit is going to be well worth the money from what srt owners say

You not worried about the Cops being prone to crackdowns?

No doubt it will be loud as hell. The stock mufler is very large and I can't see there being room for something that capable, being able to fit under the car.

it will probly go all the way for the muffler then come back to the side. (this is the way it is on my friends 5.0 mustang)

that seems like a lot of piping, it defeats the purpose o fhaving the side exit in the first place

They could put the muffler right behind the cat then go out the side... but I don't know how that would sound

IMO, If you are doing this for BLING and not performance, then get chrome spinners.

What you have proposed will not only serve no puropse (No Gains) but will add weight and possibly make the car more dificult to navigate over obtacles.

not a great pick, but those are the stock tips welded onto the side exit, no cat, no resonator, just a side exit. That is the lightweight SRT that was in SCC

Dude, srt4's with aftermarket exhausts are loud as F***. They are even loud stock. I don't belive that our cars would be that loud with a side exhaust. Also, imo, I wouldn't get one. They look better on v8's and sound much better on them.

Obviously there's a little research that needs to go into figuring out if you gan get a muffler in there. I realize the SRT's have no cats and no mufflers, but the difference is--- they're turbo'd. Of course the car is still loud, but the turbo does a decent job of muffling the sound compared to a straight pipe, open exhaust. If you think an SRT-4 with no cats or mufflers is loud, I bet the SS will be significantly worse.

BTW, just found this...

Cobalt w/ no exhaust

Obviously it's a different engine and setup, but still, might give you a little insight, maybe.

Side exhaust is stupid. If the factory put it out the side you guys would want to move it to the back. Single you want dual. Spaced evan across the back you put them together in the middle. Personally exhaust should be duel out the back and tucked under the car to give a proportioned look.

Yeah, really.

I mean, why even modify a car?

Everyone should just stay stock!!!
