Thumbs up Silencer Slits Filled !!!! Now With Vids.

Here they are:

http://media.putfile.com/SC-Silencer

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=agsXRyNAYxk

http://videos.streetfire.net/video/e...f700d21316.htm

It is a little louder in person, i can tell a difference in the volume of the Supercharer.

Second Gear Pulls:

The videos just don't do it justice. I think a drive by would be better but i don't have anyone to help me with that so it may be a while before i can get that vid done.

I wanted to start a new thread so that way everyone wouldn't have to sift through eight pages to find vids and sound clips. I DID get my computer and i DID get it all put back together. First off let me say I did get a CEL, but it was from needing a CASE Learn. So in result of that i can not get into boost until i get that taken care of. I did however set up an appointment to go to the dealer tomarrow to get the learn done at 10:00am. (Yes i'm taking off work to get this finished for you guys.) When i get back home from the dealer i will try to get a sound clip for you, but i'll have to do it off my Digital Camera if i can. So if you can wait until early afternoon tomarrow then thats when i'll have a vid.

I did notice a little whine just setting at idle but i had to have the hood up just to hear it. I can't imagine what it's going to sound like when i hit Boost. Thanks Kenhebe for bringing this to our attention.

Glad you were able to pull it off. Wish I could get the time to do mine, but I am happy for you. The JB weld will hold just fine. I manage a collision center and would not ever use a b.s. product. I know it sounds cheap, but I did it to my Cobra and it did just fine for over 90k miles.

Yeah i'm not worried at all about it. It was in there pretty good after it was all said and done. Plus isn't the JB Weld (Original) rated to heat up to 600*. I know after i get a case learn done tomarrow morning i'm going to love the sound of boost screaming from under the hood. I'm completely stoked about this and don't think i'm going to sleep tonight.

Wouldn't be hard at all if you have a dremel. May take 30 minutes to get the silencer slits cleaned back out and looking normal again.

yah as long as the surface was clean no worry on the JB weld ever falling out. We did a bonding materials study in my Materials class freshman year in Mechanical Engineering I dont remember what the shear strength was but JB weld kicked everything elses azz, and it excels at bonding to metals. Plus its going to see what 20 psi max but usually lower and those slits couldnt be more than 1 square inch so 20 lbs. or less...... it will be fine.

Aware of the thread "SC Silencer"?? If not, then if you fill the two little slits on the bottom of the supercharger then it's supposed to make the whine a little louder. So I did it and now everyones waiting on a sound clip to see the difference.

on the JB weld falling out question. My girlfriend's father has a '75 Jeep CJ Mail Jeep that had a cracked block. He used JB weld to seal the crack that was running down the side of the block and the thing runs like a champ and has for almost 5k miles now. That is a brutal 5k of offroad crap. He uses the Jeep at his hunting property. JB weld is awesome stuff.
