Honestly, it sounds nearly the same. I would like to hear it under actual load and not just free revving.

I was just watching the vid and did anyone notice the little whistle after each rev. What would that be? I just noticed it.

Cool beans man, its great to have people like you trying out crazy stuff like this!! I would never have the guts to pioneer this kinda stuff.

However

I don't really think you can assess anything just from revving the engine. It sounds about as loud as my GM stage 2 and Injen CAI.

So run that thing to redline in 2nd gear with your windows down and post up a vid of that!!

I'll do that this afternoon, or maybe early tonight. I wasn't even sure if the vids were even going to work so i'll get a better one later. I know that there doesn't seem like there is a difference from just free revving like this but when there is a load on it and it's at WOT i can tell a difference. Like i said though i'll get a better vid tonight.

So i went out and did a couple WOT 2nd gear runs and i just don't get it. The SC is screaming like none other but on the camera it's just doesnt seem that loud, so no the Camera doesn't do it justice, not even close. i can't do a drive by as i have nobody to help record or anything.

 

any perceived performance gains or increased boost?

 

LOL, I completely Forgot to even look at the boost guage. Sorry bout that. And i can't really go on what i think feels good because i put TAG stage kit on at the same time so it's like a completely different car.

I agree, but it's raining right now and will for the next few days. Rain= No Traction in 2nd at WOT.

 

Anyone else having trouble with audio? I get about .5 seconds of sound then it dies in both FF and IE

 

Since you put the smaller pulley on at the same time,how do you know if the silencers made it louder?When i installed my gm stage 2 kit,it made the charger scream.From watching the vid,it sounds the same as my car.

 

I just watched the vid and its definately loud, no doubt. Was that with the windows up or down?

Also, just a minor question here. That sounds loud and all, but are you running the car all the way to 7K?

It seems like your only on the throttle to like 5500rpm. Either that or my car is wayy slower than yours and takes longer to wind out 2nd gear.

 

Good catch. I thought it sounded a lot like my car. The 2.8 and 7200 rpms sounds sick. I guess we need a true before-after comparison vid with no other changes.

 

The car was wound all the way to 7100 rpms and the 2.8 pulley was already on from when i swapped that out last summer so the pitch of the SC didn't really change for me by going to the TAG kit except that it did get louder. I'm not going to tell you guys it's so loud that i can't stand it, because it's not. It did just go up a notch or two in volume. (Not the "banshee" sound that you can get by porting but it may be something that could do and get what you're looking for.) I don't know what to tell you guys except, just take the time if you want and do it. I know i screwed up by not getting a before and after sound clip and i appologise for that. Maybe if someone else does it, maybe they can get a sound clip of before and after. I haven't given up on a flyby yet and am planning on doing it this weekend while my lil bros home. So i guess if you guys have any more questions just holler.

Maybe a better camera will make a difference. With those clips it sounds just like my car and all I have is an intake, all though my car has said to be usually loud.
