Small issue

I have Stage 2, with 2.8inch pully. Today i was coming home from a trip going down the highway and decide to gun it. When i got to approx 5000rpm the engine sounded like it reved up sort of lurched then went back to normal acceleration. This all took place with a matter of seconds. This isn't the first time this has happened, and i don't know what it is. My plugs are 2 steps colder the stock and gapped a .35. Could it be belt slip or a problem when gm loaded the tune? I am stumped.

Also with stage 2 has anyone else maxed out the car in 4th gear or is there something wrong with my tune.

Never ran 4th all the way up.

With the gm stage 2 setup and factory set plugs it pulls smooth to 7000 rpm in 3rd.

There have been others that have had that problem stock, but in 3rd not fourth. There was even a video on streetfire that showed it. I'm not sure what the resolution was though.
