Alright help me out here guys. I am VERY interested in getting a smaller pulley for my SC but I was told that if you put a smaller pulley on your super charger you need to re-calibrate the engine. Currently there is no program for the tech 2's at the moment that can do this. If you do not recalibrate, I'm told that it can cause serious damage to your engine. Just curious to see what the above vendor has to say about this. I also heard that the stage upgrade from GM Performance Parts will come with a smaller pulley and recallibration, but it's anybody's guess as to when this will come out.

Well I visited your website and I noticed that you said that the ECU has to be reprogrammed when you buy a pulley smaller then 3.25". My brother is a parts manager at a chevy dealer and he says GM does not currently have a re-calibrating program out for the car. So why would I want to buy a pulley from you guys if this problem cannot be fixed? BTW I would want the smallest pulley availible.

CobaltSS313, No offense taken, as we already have several of our DUB 3.25" Pulley Units installed on the Cobalts, as well as the Redlines, without our customers having any performance issues reported to date. These customers are also doing a Boost Bypass Mod to achieve these 2 extra lbs. of boost at wide open throttle.

We are also working with a company for piggyback ECU programming for these vehicles to handle upwards of 18 lbs. boost at wide open throttle. The company assures me of safe Air/Fuel Ratio numbers to handle this amount of boost.

We also highly recommend, even with the use of our 3.25" DUB Pulley Unit, that the sparkplugs be changed out to one range colder and install the NGK BKR7E Copper Tipped plugs gapped at .035, to help lower cylinder temperatures and optimize performance.

Hope this helps, as when this programming becomes avilable, we will be offering it as well.

PSI FI is also very close to having a kit done for the Redline and they said it would be Cobalt SS/SC compatible.

I have a PCM wiring diagram too The shop manual is 110 bux and it's on backorder for the Cobalt The dealers get the manual on CDROM for the whole lineup which is considerably more.

From what others have said you have to really tweak the settings or the PCM will generate lots of codes and trips into limp mode.

Are you using the Apexi SAFC2?

hopefully by tues. right now the afc is in but we have to figure out why we keep getting engine power reduced on the information center. this computer is a sob 1st of all it runs on a maf and a map sensor.it also has numerous pins for map sensor and maf, multiple pins for throttle position. oh yeah to top things of they use the same color wires for numerous things in each connector, which means we had to count the pins

Question Okay.. so it worth it?

I'm contemplating getting the SFPHQ system. Would it do me even any good to just put a smaller pulley in and remain bone stock? I understand it's recommended to change the spark plugs. I was thinking of going down to a 3" at the smallest as I don't want to do anything too drastic.

I'm somewhat of a newb when it comes to superchargers, so please pardon my ignorance. How drastic would it be only with a pulley? Thanks much!
