My boss, after work pulled out behind me while going home and told me that I was puffing some smoke out my tailpipes. Now I kinda figured the motor was a little cold, but it kept doing it at WOT. Does the car run that rich stock? or could I have possibly blown a piston ring already?

 

It may be the car just running rich...mines blows out black smoke too, especially when I get on it

 

Yes, it does run rich.

If you blew a ring land, you would defenitley know from power loss and the sound of your engine would sound VERY different.

Yeah mine does that same thing too. Actually I posted on here too after I pulled out of work and a co-worker mentioned the same thing to me lol!

Yeah it runs rich and definately does it when you really get on it. It seems to smoke a little more when its cold as opposed to warmed up. Hope that helps.

 

thanks for the help! kinda figured it was just rich, but wanted a second opinion since i did beat the crap out of it on the road course a few weeks ago lol
