So I know our cars smoke a lot, but I was kind of curious as to whether my car was smoking above normal or not. I'm stage 2 with stock exhaust and at WOT I can look in my driver's side mirror and see the black smoke slightly. If I give it a good rev it spits a lot out and the smoke is no longer visible for a good while, which I interpret to mean build up, but not sure. I don't have a check light on, but I don't like people to see my car smoking and I don't like that there's enough of it that I can see it in my mirror. Does this happen to anyone else? Should I just expect this?:

If you have a problem, maybe... But thats not normal... and it doesnt happen regularly...

 

well, i've heard a lot of people say we're high emission and that unburnt fuel is the reason for black smoke. could it be a problem with my tuning or stock exhaust?

 

You could be too rich...

Or the injectors could be having a problem...

But if you smoke, your most likely having a problem somewhere.....

 

well, i'm going to get some money put back and have hatrickstu look at what he can do for me as far as tuning and hopefully that will solve it.

yes. the only things i have done to it is the trifecta tune which i'm not too impressed with, the 60's from OTTP stage 2 pulley and k&n typhoon CAI, so all of the exhaust parts are completely stock and i'm at 53,XXX miles.
