Sorry John, been up all night and I'm not sure I understand the question, which oiler are you referring to?

T-Yes they do good work, I'll be reusing the wisecos.

he is referring to the piston oiler

I don't do a wet sleeve the sleeve I do goes back into the stock hole here is a pic of the zzp 2.4 I sleeved with my 2.4 sleeves

I can get wet sleeves but they are a lot more expensive and the install is really really expensive and you take a chance of junking a block

I hear you and have no doubt your engine will be a well sorted beast in no time. Good luck and thanks for posting because I know now that when I blow mine I'm gonna do a whole gaggle of research and then find the most experienced ecotec builder. Who would be some of the best if one wanted a ported, stought long block engine or rebuilder of one? Does Mr.B do the whole shooting match or just the block?

It was removed, chain grinded...looks ok but any excuse just to buy another new part.

Stump-Given that you are Arizona, TJolley is probably a bit closer than Mr. B but either one are serious about ecotecs and they collaborate together. LSJ_Ion is the porting guy, does good, fast work and his prices are fair. Just don't use the guy in my .sig

Mr B, right. I guess I meant wet bore, or whatever term an unfinished bore goes by.

A back to back of the JE vs. Wiseco @ BDC.

JEs:

Wiseco:

Pretty clear it wasn't just the skirt making contact, the wall of the wiseco is much thicker and the squirter needs to be clocked inward towards the center of the pisiton in addition to the skirt clearance issue.

Anyways, posted for information purposes only and everyone loves pictures. The wisecos were also much looser than the JEs in the bore, very noticeable.

Next step, off to the machinist to be zyglowed/magnafluxed. Should be ok, but for $50 bucks why not check. Off to Mr. B after that.

the piston may need to be notched for clearance then re weight balance the pistons

the j.e. pistons are bigger in diameter then the wisecp pistons
