Angry So uh.. damage assesment please.

Couldn't avoid a huge rock in the middle of the road.
Took it at about 35mph.

I have front lip damage (completely off)
Radiator completely pushed in to the fans (destroyed)
Engine mount severed in two.

How long will it take to fix that + maybe more underneath the car?

I have full insurance coverage. So it doesn't really affect the cost part... other than the deductible?

This just probably killed the rest of my summer though.

shouldn't take that long to fix as long as they can get the parts... and as long as the rad support and other things aren't bent.

^^What he said. If the rad has been pushed through the fans, than your HE and AC condensor would also have been wasted. That might be costly.

And if it hit hard enough to rip that transaxle mount in two you may have twisted/bent the frame/subrframe/crosssmembers in that area.

How big of a frickin rock was it?

Just saw you have full coverage. So cost is no issue,

But depending on how bent things are in there it may take a while.

As 06blackg85ss said, the parts aren't that big of a deal, as long as nothing has decreased the structural integrity of the rad support, crossemembers, etc.

It was too big of a rock to go over. Looked like for landscaping or maybe building a house. It didn't even fall apart when I ran over it.

It was a really big rock. I don't exactly have the biggest hands and feet. But. You can tell. And rental coverage? I can't rent a car... I'm under 25. So. That's a problem too.

I got into a fender bender once and it bent the rad support very slightly and my condensor, HE, and all that was bent in too. My front bumper had to be refinished too. All that took about 10 days total. That is about 5-6 work days. I will say my dealership does thing very quickly compared to other dealerships though.

I don't know how your dealership likes to work, but I would say 2 weeks. 3 at the most if they are very slow. I've seen a lot worse be fixed quicker.

No way, it doesnt take that long to repair that stuff. Just make sure you call and check in everyday on your car and make sure the adjuster gets out there quickly and the insurance company cuts the check as soon as possible. My uncle and grandpa own body shops and it wouldnt take them nearly that long to get that stuff done.

I can't take any more pictures. The car was towed away.

But if it helps any there was a cylinder just hanging down from the engine and my headlights were off a little... And I dont know about the frame.

My air bag didn't deploy. So maybe that's a good sign?

There's rental reimbursement from certain insurance companies and enterprise will rent to an under 25 person.

Brentwood....is that the Brentwood on Long Island? Where'd you hit that sucker?

The 25 thing is more of a company policy than a law in most places...there's usually at least one company that will target the 18-25 crowd, and rape you in prices doing so (for having the market cornered), but as long as you have coverage, you should be fine. Good luck getting that back on the road soon!

Yep. It's under their name. And good. But damnit.

Brentwood, TN. I hit it on a 2 lane road that's really curvey and a pickup truck was infront of me. I couldn't not hit it.

Who leaves a big ass rock in the middle of the road anyways?
