Solution To Changing Alternator On Turbo Lsj's!!!!!!
Woot!
i emailed rebel autoworx about making their S/C delete available again even though they aren't selling the turbo kits anymore...
this is my email to them:
and their response:
I will be emailing them again tonight to respond and see if we can get a whole S/C delete kit going with the black box AND pulley bracket in one packaged deal... if we can this could mean money saved for us turbo swap guys.
Also... soon, i will be putting together a group buy thread as they have pretty much confirmed they are interested in doing this for us...

Hello...
I am a member on ******************, i remember reading that you guys were making turbo kits for the LSJ's, well, myself along with a few others
have started building our own turbo kits and have run into a problem your
company
offered a solution for at one time... The S/C delete you had with your turbo kit has raised some interest with
us... we are most interested in the bracket/pulley you used to support
the belt where the supercharger snout/pulley would usually be... we are
extremely interested in this due to the fact that it could save a lot of
time and money not having to change alternators... if you could please contact me ASAP i would love to talk to you more
about purchasing this bracket or even getting some kind of group buy or production
started so they can be available to those of us who are trying to install
a turbo on a budget.
thanks alot
-Joel

We can definitely help with that. If we get enough orders we can have them
fully machined, something like this:
Adjustable Timing Belt Tensioner for Honda H-Series Motors - Anodized Silver
How many are you guys looking at? Also what are you guys doing for the
plate to go over the lower manifold?
Let us know if any other assistance is needed.

I have a thought for you guys. The B207L in the SAAB's is the same exact motor as the LSJ, but it is turbo'd. Anyone ever try using the tensioner and alternator setup from one of those? I'd be willing to bet it would work well.
I'm sure Rebel could do something like this for you as well though.

get the setup off a 2.2 cobalt or cavi... allt he same ****, just need to use a 41.5" belt
and their "solution" is doo doo. I had it on my car, and it sucked ballz (ps welcome to a few years ago).

no, weld lsj alt, takes about 5 minutes with removing it. No wiring **** to deal with, no stupid adjustable pulley crap to deal with, no thrown belts. Just swap the tensioner, grind a nub off the alt bracket (I posted pics in my build thread on how to route everything) seriously easiest setup you can do.

I don't know what to tell ya. We have a L61 block sitting around at the shop used for mocking up components and I just took the alt/ten off that. I may have grabbed the electrical connection with it, but I don't see how that one would be any different than the LSJ's as it plugged right into my stock wiring. It was a real busy day when I mounted it, so I don't really remember. I do know that my voltage is within specs, so it's definitely working a-okay...

That really is an easy route to take if you have a local junk yard or pick-n-pull. There are a lot of cars w/ the L61.
No need to worry about any mounting brackets; though, all the Ecotec alternators are mounted using bolt provisions in the housing...
