some dumb questions
well i have had an LSJ for a year now, and i have just been driving it, not modding or anything like that, well i bought it a stage 2 with full exhaust and intake...well im looking at everything and im wanting to do some cooling mods, i know which to do and kind of what they do but still have some questions....
i understand getting a second or bigger h/e helps cooling, and such, but what i dont understand is the dual pass intercooler plate...how does it work, do you have to have it to run 2 h/e. what is its purpose, im looking at running a big single h/e i guess, but still dont understand how the dual pass intercooler plate works. tried doing a search but came up with little info about how it works.....also what does a h/e actually do what is its purpose? what does the coolant in the h/e cool, what does it run thru. b/c i know the rad. pumps coolant thru the block, just have some curious questions...thanks in advance guys.

ok, right now, you have a four pass, the coolant enters one of the four laminova's, goes to the next, goes to the next, goes to the next, until it goes through all four, then goes bak to the intercooler etc. Dual pass changes it so that the coolant enters two laminovas simultaneosly. Single pass is even bettwer, it goes through all four at once.
Your intake manifold has four of these laminova's whick run through your IM from side to side, like four fat little pipes. the air goes over the pipes filled with coolant, and gets cooled before it goes into the motor.
A secondary heat exchanger adds more coolant to the system, but also mounts the cooling suface away from the hot radiator, and out in a better flow of cool air, resulting in a more efficient intercooler set-up.

The thing with a single pass is that your IM has to be removed and modified so the coolant can all flow in the driver's side, and exit the passenger's side. the laminovas have to be repositioned as well i believe.
